Furkajoch Bregenzerwald round tour
Experience the diversity of the Bregenzerwald and a beautiful long mountain pass with an altitude difference of approx. 1000 metres. Coffee stop in the cosy town of Dornbirn included. Great views of the Bregenzerwald and Rhine Valley.
Tour route: Mellau - Furkajoch - Rankweil - Dornbirn - Lorenapass - Schwarzenberg - Mellau
After a nice roll-in along the Bregenzerache, the steepest sections of the tour come after the village of Au. We pass the picturesque Walser village of Damüls and ride over the Furkajoch with its panoramic views into the Rhine Valley - over 1200 metres of descent to Rankweil. On flat terrain, we reach the small town of Dornbirn, where some nice cafés invite us to stop for a coffee. One more leisurely climb awaits us: over the very quiet Lorena Pass we ride back into the Bregenzerwald and back to the Hotel Bären & Café Deli in Mellau.
